General Director

Born in Bhamdoun, Lebanon on April 25th, 1966, father Fadi was ordained a priest in 1990. He studied at Apôtres College in Lebanon. His graduate studies included theology, religious pedagogy, social communications, but most dear to his heart are his theater arts studies. His diplomas include a PhD in social communications, 3 Masters of Arts in theater, religious theater in Lebanon, and social communications, and a Bachelor of Arts in theology and religious pedagogy. He also studied oriental singing and Do (instrument that accompanies students of oriental singing). His hope was to transmit God’s word through his art for which God granted him a special grace. On the business level, Fr Fadi held the position of director of the minors’ seminary of the Lebanese Missionaries, the position of principal of Kadmous School, and the position of General Manager of Voice of Charity, a position he’s held since 1990. On the spiritual level, he was spiritual director of the “Christian Youth” from 1985 to 1993. In 2000, he invited Lebanese youths to join the youths of Voice of Charity and later founded the movement “Family of Voice of Charity” in order to gather both the youths and families under the same roof of Voice of Charity or the voice of Christ in the world.

Fr. Omar El-Hachem, L.M.
Technical Director

Born in Akoura, Lebanon on June 29th, 1971, father Omar was ordained a priest in 1998. He holds one diploma in philosophy and theology from Holy Spirit University in Kaslik and another in media and radio station management from Salesian University in Rome. He is the spiritual director of the Youths of Voice Of Charity movement. He's been program and news editor at the station since 1988 and a board member since 1998. He also presents various radio programs.

Fr. Jean Bou Khalife, L.M.

Born in Teilbaya in the Bekaa valley in 1972, father Jean was ordained a priest on February 7th, 2000. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in theology and a Master’s degree in Social Communications in television. He is a member of the board of our station and is responsible for all program editors.

The Jounieh-based Voice of Charity radio station is the mustard seed that was planted in the ground in 1984 and grew into a strong tree thanks to the efforts and self-giving of those responsible for launching it. The calling for the Family of Voice of Charity was that of father Fadi Tabet, L.M. (Lebanese Missionaries) who believed that his dream can become a reality with the grace of God. The idea was rooted in the teachings of The Lord: “You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world”. This vision helped some parents, moms and dads, to join this family by building their nests in its tree.

The Family of Voice of Charity began its mission and held its first meeting on 22 August 2001 at the station. Its spiritual director was father John Younes, L.M. On 30 June 2002, The Damour (city in Southern Lebanon) Group under Sister Madeleine Abou Taka and father Omar El-Hachem as spiritual director joined the families of Jounieh. Father John resigned in 2004 and was replaced by father Maurice Chidiac, L.M.

The goals of the families are:

- A special mission statement for the family according to the creative movements of The Holy Spirit.
- Moral, spiritual, and financial support for the station.
- Aim at living within the family according to the Christian faith.
- Adopting social and charitable works as stated by the late Pope John Paul II: “Work towards building a civilization of love”.
- Missionary work under the statement: the family evangelizes the family.

Before 1999 and after realizing that the Lebanese youths continue to suffer from the effects of the Lebanese war and from the pressures stemming from the imaginary world of 3-D games and the wrongful use of social communications means, Voice Of Charity became aware of its important role and mission among this group of society. It took upon itself to assist every young man and woman in realizing their personal and Christian identity that come from identifying their rights and duties through their ties to a family and the Church.

As it continues to try planting seeds of peace, love, joy and good in the fruitful soil of the youths and as declared by the late Pope John Paul II to the youths: "You are the hope of the future", Voice Of Charity launched the Youths of Voice of Charity movement in 1999.

One goal of the youths movement is to become living witnesses to the presence of The Lord in the lives of each of its members and in today's world that is run by material possessions and wrong ideas. The other goal is to serve the Word of God by spreading the Good News through Voice Of Charity in order to reach every heart.

Some of the youths' members are involved in editing and transmitting radio programs while others are spread throughout Lebanon to cover local church news. Members meet with their spiritual director on a weekly basis. Spiritual, social and cultural subjects are covered during the meetings with the goal of getting deeper into the spirit of the Bible and Christian life. Members are also involved in the station's activities along with their own spiritual, social and cultural activities.

The mission of the youths movement lies first and foremost in each member's own family and then in society where the member lives and there, each member is called to be the good leaven right where he or she is.
